We believe that anybody can be taught to paint and draw,....if you have the desire then you will succeed. Drawing is a learned technical skill the same as playing a piano or driving a car. The "artistic talent" will come into play later. For this reason, we initially teach you the basic principals of good drawing and this normally takes five weeks. So far the results of this compact course have been extraordinary. It is worth mentioning at this stage That"drawing" does not necessarily mean using a pencil. Drawing is the ability to see shapes and tones correctly before applying them to the paper, or canvas in whatever medium you happen to
be using. Our initial aim will be to teach you to draw and then paint in a "realistic" manner. This will increase your powers of observation as well as give confidence in the fact that you can do it. However, a little later you will be encouraged to loosen up and try different media, even mixing them together to produce more expressive and original work.
